What is OEM/ODM?

OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer. Products or components are produced or manufactured under a specified brand. Manufacturer provides complete products and the purchaser only change their own private label and model etc, and no modify is applied to other parts.

ODM: Original Design Manufacturer. Products or components are designed and produced under purchaser’s spec and requirements. A primary attribute of this business mode is that the ODM manufacturer owns in-house design of the products branded by the buying firm.
